Sibling rivalry in my home had reached its peak when my daughter and son were loudly complaining about the dog gate. My daughter is usually falling over the gate while my son can just step right over it. I have no idea why that causes so much strife and angst, but it the outbursts usually go on for a few minutes and then they start yelling about something else. This time it was getting really loud so I went to investigate. It turns out that upon hearing that my son was grounded, my daughter barricaded him in his room with the gate. While he could just step over it, he couldn’t open the door. I appreciate her ingenuity and reasoning when she explained that the dog was perfectly well behaved and was always in the house by curfew and had even passed obedience training with flying colors.
